New energy mineral, Lithium, Tibet BANGKOG CO Brine Is Stepping On The Throttle

Zhongxin Mining Co, BANGKOG CO Brine reserves announcement: reserves of 1.0335 million tons, with a grade of 1268.96mg/L.

BANGKOG CO is a brine located within the Tibet Autonomous Region and is a famous site for the earliest discovery and use of borax globally. It is situated in BANGKOG County of the NAGCHU region. It consists of three sub-lakes that are interconnected by waterways. Sub-lake one is at an altitude of 4525 meters, seasonal, and with a maximum water storage area of 5.4 square kilometers; sub-lake two is at an altitude of 4522 meters, seasonal, and with a maximum water storage area of 50 square kilometers; sub-lake three is at an altitude of 4520 meters and has water all year round, BANGKOG CO,31°43′N89°29′E, with an area of 55.2 square kilometers.

Historically, BANGKOG CO has been a well-known borax brine for centuries. It was utilized for borax as early as the 6th century until it was introduced to Europe from Tibet in 1563. Today, the BANGKOG CO and BANGKOG COⅢ lakes in the BANGKOG County BANGKOG CO Brine mining area are owned by Zhongxin Mining Co and are rich in brine hydromagnesite resources.

Zhongxin Mining Co announcements the BANGKOG CO Brine reserves: reserves of 1.0335 million tons, with a grade of 1.27g/l.

As of September 30, 2022, the liquid and solid mineral reserves held within Zhongxin's mining rights range in Tibet are as follows: 1. Shallow brine porosity resources (confirmed + controlled + inferred) porosity resources: lithium (LiC1) 1.0335 million tons, with an average grade of 1,268.96mg/L.

The lake has high quality and grade and may be the first in Tibet to provide mature conditions for lithium extraction. The currently announced reserves of BANGKOG CO Brine may rank third among carbonate brines in the Tibet area. In addition, the lake has certain advantages regarding transportation, hydropower supply, and altitude operation conditions.

Zhongxin Mining Co will cooperate with the adsorption-coupled membrane method original brine lithium extraction technology to develop the BANGKOG CO Brine and has agreed on specific plans for the pilot and scale-up stages. In the project's pilot stage, the designed brine usage is 60L/h, with a cycle of 2 months, and the main research goal is to obtain a suitable lithium-containing desorption solution. The scale of scale-up stage is tentatively set at an annualized production capacity of 600-2000 tons of lithium chloride, and the main research goal is the long-term operational stability and economic viability of the overall process. It is planned to build a project with an annual output of 50,000 tons of lithium salt (30,000 tons of lithium chloride, 10,000 tons of battery-grade lithium hydroxide, and 10,000 tons of battery-grade lithium carbonate), 3,800 tons of alkyl lithium series and supporting products. It is expected to start production before October 31, 2023, with a target production capacity of 50,000 tons of lithium salt.
