Abstract:This article is mainly about Hotmining's dressing method of barite and different process flow of different types of barite ore.
1. Mineral Processing Method
The dressing method of barite is influenced by ore type, original ore property, mine scale and application.The main dressing methods currently used are shown in table 1. Generally, eluvial ores are easy to be selected, so the method of heavy separation is preferred. In addition to the heavy separation, the flotation method is also used for the sedimentary ore, the hydrothermal ore such as sulfide ore and fluorite. Barite flotation generally USES anion collector: fatty acid salt, petroleum sulfonate or sulfate, etc.

2. Process Flow
2.1 Process flow of residual barite ore
Eluvial barite ores are generally separated by gravity separation, that is, jigging or other gravity separation methods are used to select heavy crystal ore concentrate after washing, crushing and screening. Its typical process flow is shown in figure 1.
2.2 The processing process of sedimentary and hydrothermal barite ore
For sedimentary and hydrothermal barites, the gravity separation method still cannot meet the requirements of users, so flotation is needed. Especially when the barite is symbiotic with galena, sphalerite, pyrite and other sulfide ores as well as fluorite and calcite, it can be separated effectively only by flotation. Figure 2 and 3 show the typical dressing process of sedimentary barite.
At present, the ore dressing of barite mines in China is not perfect.As shown in FIG. 4, the process is relatively simple. Generally, barite concentrate is produced after one washing, two crushing and one jigging separation.
